I can only answer that from my perspective. But let us do an imagination game. Imagine yourself going to a mirror, your mind and personality is the same, but instead of seeing your normal face and body, you see the
body of the opposite sex, that is a good idea of what I live with. For those of you who are men, you will have the same desires, emotions that you do now, but you will be in the body of a woman, which will not feel right. You will still want to stand and pee, and all your other male instincts and desires, but society will tell you that you are a woman and must behave like one. For those of you are women, you will still want to do all the feminine things you like, like putting on make-up and have all your feminine instincts and desires but you will have the body of the male, and society will tell you to not act like a sissy and be a man. This is what a transgendered person lives with every day of their life.
